Terms and Conditions

Terms and Conditions emergency electrician 24/7

These terms and conditions are provided to prevent any misunderstandings between ourselves and our clients.

By using this website or our services you agree to these terms and conditions.

Where an emergency call out is requested, call outs will be charged at the hourly or 30minutes price quoted. There is a minimum call out charge on all jobs. If more time is needed, consecutive hours are charged in half hour units. The supply of any parts or materials will be extra.

Emergency electrical work may consist of getting the installation into safe temporary use, wholly or partially until a further appointment can be made. An emergency call out does not guarantee the re-energisation of any circuits or equipment. We can’t guarantee a fault can be found or rectified within the first hour.

Our aim is to have the emergency electrician on site within 60 minutes from the booking and an estimated arrival time will be provided. It is the clients responsibility to provide an accurate attendance address. Attendance times are subject to electricians availability, traffic and suitable safe parking for our electricians and vehicles.

Immediately after booking an emergency call out we get straight to work to assign an electrician to attend. Cancellations made by the client after 10 minutes of the booking being made will result in a cancellation charge equal to fifty percent of the call out first hour rate  / 30 minutes quoted. This will be invoiced either by paper, digitally or as a Sum-Up remote payment request and payment will be due immediately. There may be occasions where we require a non-refundable deposit prior to the electrician attending.

Power may be interrupted at any time. The client is responsible for removing/unplugging any sensitive electronic equipment prior to work commencing or to make us aware of such equipment.

The existing electrical installation must meet the necessary requirements of the current wiring regulations for any alterations or additions.

If existing or previously unknown faults or issues are uncovered during installation work, inspection & testing or at any time, then you will be made aware of the problem and of your options.

Any remedial work found necessary to allow the modification and certification of the installation may incur additional costs for time and materials.

Unless specified accessories such as sockets and switches will be of white plastic, mid-range of BG quality or similar. Sockets are to be of the non-usb type and light switches non-dimmable. Recessed socket boxes will be standard depth of 25mm and 16mm for lighting points.

Where a spur accessory is to be fed from an existing accessory, it is assumed that the existing accessory is in itself not a spur. Otherwise additional fusing may have to be installed with associated costs which have not been accounted for.

Unless specified, new accessories will be installed as per Part M of the building regulations which require living areas to have sockets and switches located between 450 – 1200mm from the finished floor level.

Where there are blanks or unlabelled circuit breakers in the consumer unit it is assumed that these are spare. If a new circuit is required, one of these will be used to supply it. If the consumer unit has no spare ways additional time and materials will be required to accommodate the new circuit which will be chargeable.

Where loft or attic access is required it is assumed there is suitable room to move, it is not full of items and there is no vermin. That the existing cables are accessible and that the floor has not been boarded. When this is not the case additional time may be required to work around such issues. This additional time is chargeable.

Where work needs to take place, it will be expected that furniture will have been cleared beforehand to allow reasonable access for personnel and tools.

Should any furniture require moving, no responsibility is accepted for damage and time incurred would be chargeable. Should it not be possible or practical to move furniture or obstructions due to fragility, amount, weight, security of fixings or any other factors then it may become necessary to postpone or abandon the proposed scope of works without notice.

Unless specified all downlights and light switches are non-dimmable. If downlights are being fitted the number of downlights fitted in any given room will ultimately be determined by the room size and shape, the layout and positioning of unexposed ceiling joists, pipework and the like. Downlights are based on fire rated gu10 led models. Samples can be provided if required.

Where the client is supplying their own light fittings or accessories please unpack and inspect each fitting for any damages, missing parts. www.emergencyelectricianservice.co.uk or its sub-contractors can’t be held responsible for and damage or parts missing for items that have not been inspected. If the client is supplying light fittings it is the assumed that includes light bulbs/lamps that need to be available at the time of installing the fitting. This includes sockets, switches, current using equipment and the like. All accessories and current using equipment supplied by the client must be approved to the relevant British Standard.

Cavity stud walls may have to be opened if there is internal construction such as a noggin in the way of the wiring route.

The removal of existing accessories (sockets, switches and the like) for testing, inspecting, replacement or modification may result in minor chipping of plaster, paintwork or wallpaper which may require correction by third parties that has not been accounted or priced for in any way.

Where carpets or flooring needs to be lifted, every effort will be made to avoid damage and refit to an acceptable standard, however a professional may be required to refit. Overtime carpet underlay deteriorates. The cost of replacement or fitting of any flooring has not been priced for.

Unless specified, wall chases will be left unfilled. A small amount of plaster or the like may be applied around sockets, light switches etc where it’s deemed required to aid the fixings and finishing of accessories. Repairs to decorative finishes such as wall chases may require professional attention which unless specified has not been priced for.

Where final finishes have been deliberately damaged (ie: chasing out), professional making good may be required which unless specified has not been priced for.

Drilling of brickwork may result in ‘blowing’ of the brick face. This will be avoided where possible and covered over with an aesthetic solution afterwards if necessary.

All reasonable effort will be made to minimise dust, however sensitive or valuable items should be removed from the working area or covered by the client to their own satisfaction before work commences.

Basic tidying up will occur at the completion of work, but additional cleaning may need to be undertaken by the client once the site has been vacated.

New accessories may not match the footprint of old resulting in painting or other decorative finishing being required. Any remedial work required has not been priced for.

We do not provide product guarantees for any sockets, switches, accessories, light fittings, materials or the like supplied by the client.

Any additional work including the rectification of pre-existing faults is subject to a new quotation.

Where specific or specialised access equipment is required, the cost of such equipment will incur additional charges that will be payable in advance by the client.

Where access equipment is provided by the client or third parties, such equipment must be in a good serviceable condition.

Tools, materials and access equipment provided by www.emergencyelectricianservice.co.uk or it’s sub-contractors may not be used by the client or any other third parties.

If our services have been obtained or sourced through a third party or agency our prices will be higher than those displayed on this website.

Payment for larger works may need to be paid in stages of job progress. This will be detailed on the estimate or quotation provided.

We do not offer credit, therefore all payments are due immediately upon the client or person ordering the attendance and or works being presented with the invoice. The invoice may be in either paper, digitally or as a Sum-Up remote payment request. Accepted methods of payment are credit/debit card, cash and cleared bank transfer.

All parking or vehicle related charges incurred will be added to the final invoice.

We will not work within premises where there are minors present without adult supervision.

Please ensure all pets are secure away from the working area. We can’t be held responsible for their wellbeing.

Installations on site may be carried out by one or more sub-contractors representing  www.emergencyelectricianservice.co.uk
